December 2004 - Message from Traveling Rotarian Gladys Baisa:

Had a great visit at the Ninos y Jovenes Orphanage today. Many of the children are with other people for the holidays, but we met with Father Macias and several of the boys who were in the computer lab when we arrived. We interviewed them on the VCR so we can show to our club.

I had the Jocotepec Rotary President interview them and translate. One of the boys we talked to wants to be a Doctor and the other a lawyer. They are so grateful for the computers.

Father Macias is going to purchase the chairs for the lab with the money I gave him. I gave him the money from the club and enough to make the $300 needed.

They send love and blessings to all of us for our continuing help. I am so proud to be a part of helping these people and really changing their lives.

The good news is that a club in Canada is giving them two  buses that are coming loaded with medical supplies and other needs so after 8 years they will have the buses I tried to give them a long time ago.

I will have photos when I return, too.  This is the essence of Rotary!
